My Saree story #5

Déjà vu
Recurring dreams of visiting temples in faraway lands is become a permanent feature of my sleepless nights. The dreams are so vivid and live that I have guided the clueless drivers to the exact location. My friends are zapped and goose bumped when I tell them for example that we will find two women in green and red sarees selling white and yellow flowers or a man in a lungi and blue shirt selling coconuts much before we have reached our destination. The idols of gods and goddesses in less visited temples in different parts of the country have piqued my interest and compelled me to visit them for the dreams to stop.
Déja vu Science does try to prove that it’s all in your head because you are in a pre occupied state and didnt notice it the first time with a conscious mind hence the feeling of having visited or heard it before. Or the frontal lobe story , even calling it a seizure. This does not make me feel bummed at all as I like the idea of past lives .
How could science explain the fact that Rajarajeshwari temple located on Bangalore Mysore highway , a place I had never visited before be a part of my narrative to friends much before I saw it ? From the colour of the idol to the description of the people in and around the corridors of this ancient temple. How I get transformed to a different time zone and go in a trance and come out of it totally exhausted .
More details about this in my blogs to follow…
My saree for yesterday’s visit to Rajrajeshwara temple (lord Shiva) situated in Taliparamba , kannur was a Kolkatta cotton ivory and red coloured one with a rich broad border . This temple is regarded as one of the 108 ancient temples of lord Shiva in Kerala. Among the large number of customs the rationale of which isn’t questioned one is that women are allowed to enter only after 7.15 pm when the Athazha Pooja is completed. It’s believed that lord shiva is in a gracious mood and is accompanied by his consort Parvati Devi. A young and very dear officer of our unit offered to drive me to this temple last evening and I came back feeling enriched.
P.S.cameras and phones were not allowed inside the temple , hence no pictures of the temple.
